Who Are We?

The West Hobbs Street Church of Christ is a congregation of God's people who believe in loving God by doing His Will (John:14:15) and in loving each other in order that others may see that we follow Christ (JHN 13:34). We believe the Bible to be the very Word of God and thus authoritative in every aspect of our lives (2TM 3:16-17). Our worship services are according to the pattern revealed in the New Testament. On the Lord's Day we sing (a cappella), pray, give as we have been prospered, have preaching and partake of the Lord's Supper. We have classes for all ages on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. We also have a Sunday evening service each week. The church is together frequently for fellowship and work activities.

The church here is organized after the Biblical pattern. We are overseen by four elders and have a number of deacons and others active in various roles. We have what we believe to be an excellent Bible School for our children. Each summer we have a Vacation Bible School. Many of our young folks attend Limestone Bible Camp for a week during the summer.

There is a strong mission emphasis at West Hobbs Street. For a number of years we have sent twelve to fifteen of our people to work in campaigns in Guyana. Our elders oversee the work of Steve and Kandi Taylor in Ghana, West Africa. We also support Bro. Demar Elam and his work with Open Door Ministry. If you find yourself in our area, please stop in for a visit. We trust that you will find a group of people who love God and who want to go to Heaven.
